Hope For Amanda

Living on Faith, Hope & Love

  Sue, Our Respite Angel

The Chicago Epilepsy Foundation connected us with Clearbrook, a non-profit human service agency who is a leader, an innovator and an advocate in the field of developmental disabilities.

We use the Take A Break Respite Program which matches the spirit of volunteerism with the needs of families who have young children with developmental delays, giving parents regularly scheduled time away from daily responsibilities.

Sue comes to play with Amanda at our house for four hours every week.  I look forward to this break every week...it is a great way to recharge and have time to run errands, read a book and just get out of the house for a couple of hours and know that Amanda is in good hands.  Sue is absolutely wonderful with Amanda!   Amanda knows that when Sue is at the house, it's their time to play together.

Sue also has a daughter with a rare heart condition and truly understands the need for parents to have some time away to 'recharge'.  She has even watched Amanda for a couple of evenings so Jason and I had the opportunity for a date night : )
